How teaching patterns could make your child a math whiz

How teaching patterns could make your child a math whiz

Introducing maths concepts in early education pays dividends for a child’s school readiness and life.

Our children are experiencing, and are often aware of, patterns from a very young age. Their daily routines are patterns and most children can recognise what comes next in their day. Eg nap time and then lunch.

Studies have actually shown that this awareness is a fundamental building block in their mathematical reasoning which in turn helps them with counting strategies, number combinations and problem solving.

Finding simple pattern opportunities to explore, create and discuss with our kids each day will help develop their mathematical brains and send them on their way to becoming math geniuses.

Our Let’s Learn Pack introduces a number of mathematical and literacy concepts that complement all the daily teachings we as mums do everyday (sometimes without even realising!) Check it out here.
